News Reading in the Internet

One of the benefits of modern media is the use of the latest technologies has changed the speed of relaying information to different parts of the world. Decades ago the catch phrase was the latest news; today the popular phrase is breaking news because people received the latest news by the hour, every hour. Unlike ages before, people received news days or weeks after the incident occurred. Before, it was plain global news, at present it has become more specific using phrases such as Islam news, culture news, middle east new, and online news to name a few. Due to internet the world has been getting smaller and people get easy access with latest news development. It is a welcome development as people will be able to digest specific information easily.

Online technologies have allowed people to search and received news developments at a click of a mouse. And not only that, they can type specific key words such as gulf news, international business news, and middle east news to arrive easily at the web pages they want immediately. Long ago, newspaper readers’ patience has to be tested before they can read latest Muslim news, Islamic news, and Middle East News. The search bar features have slimmed down time constraint of accessing specific news to readers. In addition, some functions of these sites has exposed readers to links that give related information of the events.

Readers have to skim from different pages to find one article about world business news. Oftentimes, readers have skipped the news that they want to read as it is buried in the inside pages. In addition, newspapers then do not provide in depth analysis of events that unfolded during that time. Online editions have categorized different news items such as world business news, international business news, news in middle east, and Islamic news, to give more details as the event progresses every seconds of the day. And because of these readers have are better informed and are more clarified with the issues.

The internet has further created additional source of information for everybody. The web does not host online editions of major newspapers. It is home to websites and blogs that concentrate on specific news categories. Thus, you have sites for Islam news only, blogs for culture news, and webpages that caters only gulf news. In addition, thousands of articles that deals specifically with topics like Islamic news, international business news, and middle east business news, just to name a few are easily accessible. It gives readers of more objective and detailed information of specific interest.

It has been predicted before that the web will replace newspapers as major source of current events information. This is the reason why newspapers have invaded the web to benefit from this development. At present, both off line and online versions are available for everybody. It is not yet definite if land base newspapers will suffer extinction just like the dinosaurs of long ago. At any rate, people are still enjoying both versions.

Ten Free Methods For Generating Leads For Your Business

This article will briefly summarize ten methods you can use to generate free business leads. When using any of these methods you do not want to spam anyone or over-hype yourself, because it will be completely transparent that that’s exactly what you’re doing, and this is a huge turn off to potential leads. So, let’s begin.

1) Write an Article:
Write informative and content-rich articles. Again, this is not the place to blatantly self-promote or state that your business opportunity is the greatest thing on earth. Many people out there looking for online opportunities don’t know one thing when it comes to internet marketing. Establish yourself as a marketing authority by posting useful marketing advice (or related topics) and readers will be curious as to what it is exactly that you do, and may opt to join you (your author bio should be at the end of each article, including a link where people can go to learn more about you or opt into your business opportunity).

2) Write a Press Release
Press releases are announcements of news-worthy events, and should be written in the third person. For example you may want to announce the launch of your new business, your website, your blog, or any event that may be related to your business. Use quotes in your press release, as if you were being interviewed i.e. “our business model is one of a kind” said Matt Mossop. Keep press releases short and to the point (around 400 words).

3) Blog
Use the same guidelines for blogging as stated above for articles. Your blog will be used to establish yourself as a marketing authority. I personally post all my articles on my blog, as well as some additional content which I don’t want to release as an article. You should have a capture form on your blog for possible new leads.

4) Create a Squidoo Lens
Squidoo is a website where people share content about about whatever you want. Again, follow the article writing guidelines as above. There are additional options to add pictures and video etc to your squidoo lens, just follow the instructions on Squidoo on how to create a lens.

5) Create a Facebook Profile
Create a Facebook profile (or MySpace etc) as you would if you were using it to talk to friends (keep it professional however, i.e. no offensive content). Don’t make it look like you’re only there to promote your business. Add friends who are also into internet marketing/business, as some of them may be looking for new business opportunities. I personally also add people with similar interests as me, i.e. movies or music I like. Do not push your business onto any of these people. When adding friends let people know you’re looking to network or speak to like-minded individuals. If they decide to ask you what you do and join you, that’s their decision.

6) Use Twitter
Create a Twitter account and follow as many new people a day as possible (limit to 400 or so so your profile doesn’t get suspended by Twitter). Tweet about other topics than just how to join your business. You’re limited to 140 characters per tweet, so it’s not difficult to post other interesting advice or information (a cool video or news story you read for example). Once you’ve reached a few thousand followers (this does take some time to establish), it is possible to get several free business leads per day.

7) Create a Video
Create an informative video and post it to YouTube (or Viddler etc). Simply record yourself talking about whatever business-related topic you wish, it can be as short or long as you want. The more unique your video, the more views you will get.

8) Post an Online Classified Ad
I personally like Craigslist, although they limit you to how many ads you can post within a 48 hour period (three unique ads per e-mail address). Simply create a short ad with a link to your opt-in page and post it. Be informative (facts) as opposed to posting spam, i.e. “this is the greatest business ever”.

9) Join ListJoe
With ListJoe, you can send thousands of e-mails out weekly to potential leads for free. The catch is that every e-mail you send out goes to another ListJoe member, i.e. someone doing the same thing as you. Leads are still possible however as some members may be frustrated with their business and looking for something new. You must personally look at other ListJoe members’ e-mail to accumulate points. The number of e-mails you’re allowed to send it determined by how many points you have. It is not difficult however to accumulate enough points to send out 2000 or so e-mails a week.

10) Post to Online Forums
Join online marketing forums and simply reply to posts, demonstrating your marketing knowledge. Again, this will build your credibility and may have people wanting to know more about what it is you do, and how to join you.

You will of course have to find websites to post your articles, press release, etc. Simply Google “free article marketing” (or similar topics) to find sites to post your content on. Free business leads do take more effort to produce in general than paid leads, but if you’re on a limited marketing budget they’re invaluable. As stated above, articles and your blog will also help to establish yourself as a presence in the industry.

Use News Feeds For Classy Networking For $100,000+ Jobs

Networking is a way of life for any executive in search of that $100,000+ job. While all the standard rules for networking apply, executives and technology leaders in search of that high paying job need more than a name and email address of contacts.

Sign up for news feeds that feature the names of key people (and companies) on your networking priority list. Stay informed on topics of interest to your contacts and occasionally, send an article or link based on what you learn. Demonstrate you are interested in and knowledgeable about their arena by sharing only those things germane to their niche.

Don’t spam. When you send something to a contact, be sure it is on point. I receive emails from “networking” contacts that have nothing to do with my business, my niche or my interests. These people lose any credibility with me; in fact, I have blocked a few people based on their poor choices regarding what I want to know about. If you want to send something and are not certain it will resonate, say so. “I saw this and while I am not sure it is on point for you, wanted to hear your thoughts,” goes a long way towards mitigating the, “I am randomly sending things to you to remind you I am out here,” perception. Be sure to send links rather than attachments. Most people ignore attachments from people they do not know well and a link allows them the choice of when to take a look. Make your subject and email message compelling, and you will have done enough.

Enlarge the topic. When you attend a networking function learn your contacts’ other interests. Come prepared with “conversations starters” that have nothing to do with the topic at hand, but which will be of general interest. I read an article in Forbes on “Gray is the new Green” on alternative energy. Everyone has an opinion on the topic so mention of this particular point of view enlivened the conversation and forged a deeper bond with all participants. One contact in my network is a high end motorcycle enthusiast. I found a test ride/article on a $120,000 bike which I forwarded. My contact appreciated the outreach and responded with a much warmer email than any business news article has garnered. For people engaged in a search for a $100,000+ job, amped up networking techniques are a requirement to stand out from the crowd. There is a lot of competition for the same jobs and there is nothing like the personal touch to make your name rise to the top of consideration for your next
